The

Bio Solar CO₂ Absorber

Project.

 

This is a DIY Tutorial in growing Algae for CO₂ Absorbtion.

It is based on Real Science and information from sources as CSIRO, NREL and many Universities and Companies.

 

 

First. Find some 2 Litre Coke bottles,(please collect any clear water bottles as well) rinse them out. 3/4 Fill with water, it's better to get this from a pond, lake or river that doesn't have pesticides in it.

Next, put the bottles in the sun, not direct sunlight but a warm place, Algae doesn't like too much sun and leave the caps off. You can poke some cottonwool in the opening if you want. At this stage contamination isn't a problem in fact thats just what we want. An Algae that likes it here!

Congratulations you have started the project and you are taking CO₂ out of the air. Its only a little now but will get better as we progress through the project. Also every little bit does count.

Now we will make some things needed to encourage the Algae to grow fast and eat more CO₂.

Introduction :

There is probably no-one on this planet that hasn’t heard the term “global warming”. Most of us have pondered what we can do about this. Whilst I think recycling and energy efficiency are good personal goals, I know that this will not solve the problem. By a large factor, Industry produces the majority of CO₂. Not individuals, but I do wonder why Australians and Americans use 5 times more energy per person than Asians. This was my main motivation to move from Australia to China. To lower my CO₂ footprint. I spent some 8 years in Australia devoting all my resources (and some from others) and my time to researching new ways to tackle the problem. I even went as far as standing for parliament in Queensland. (Thank god I didn’t get in, I’d be talking xxxx (slang) by now!).

 

If you are waiting for God, Jesus or some other deity to appear and fix the planet, or even more unlikely, waiting for your politicians to actually do something, then, I suggest you don’t waste my time or yours. Go away now and don’t pollute my air.

 

The answer is obvious :

 

DO SOMETHING!

There is a solution. It has been on this planet well before we crawled out of the primeval soup or slime and promptly started destroying it. In fact, it was the primeval slime that took the CO₂ out of the atmosphere in the first place, locking it up as Fossil fuels, Oil and Coal. This, of course took millions of years, and now we are consuming it all in a matter of 200-300 years, putting the CO₂ back into the environment. We didn’t exist then and it would appear that we cannot exist if this happens.

 

Algae offers us a way to become not just carbon neutral but as we must, become carbon negative. I believe the science reports saying we will loose 30% of the species on the planet at current CO₂ levels, and xxxx! We just pumped another million tones into the air while you were reading this.

 

Algae can convert 30 times more CO₂ than any other plant

 

Algae are the Nano machines that clean our planet and the most basic food source. They can be used as a source of Natural Alternative Energy and are far superior than current Solar, Wind ,Tidal or Geo-thermal energies. I am not saying we don’t need these too, but Algae has the unique ability to rapidly absorb CO₂ and convert it to O₂, Oils, Carbohydrates and Proteins thereby locking up the Carbon. All other alternatives use a great deal of energy in their manufacture and cannot convert CO₂ at all. We can use all of its by-products and still lock up some CO₂.

 

The best part about Algae is that it will grow anywhere there is some light, water and basic nutrients. This unlike all other alternative energies. Algae only requires small amounts of sunlight, which is, the case for half of the world, and something I didn’t realize until I came to live in China. Growing up in Australia I assumed that blue skies were everywhere. Not so.

 

The absolutely greatest thing about algae is that you can grow it yourself, and very inexpensively. This project is all about doing this, making it accessible to everyone to do something about the problem. It is the only way, of this I am sure. My Australian Politicians who I will name as “Little Johnny” and that “media slut “ from Queensland some years ago told me to “xxxx off” (slang in dictionary). They will be happy to know . I did.

I have many skills I will use with this project, I am sure it will be educational as well, I am now working as a teacher, but at 52, I have amassed vast and varied experiences from Electronics Design and low level coding and manufacturing, Bio-Engineering, IT, Engineering, CNC machining, coding and operation, Mechanical Design using Autocad and Solidworks.

I want you to participate, please do so. If you can contribute please feel free to contact me. You can subscribe and get updates and the lessons or join the club, build your own and have it displayed on the internet including the amount of CO₂ you took off the planet. Swap ideas, form companies, but above all, do something. I need teachers, Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Biology, Maths and Language (translations). We will also need Marketing, IT Skills. I know from experience that new ideas come from the most unlikely places. Hard science does break some new ground but most inventions come from “left-field” ,that is, from the unqualified and inexperienced. So don’t despair, you don’t need to be an Astro-physist with 10 PhD’s (actually I don’t know any who really do anything, sorry, contact me and correct me).

I offer to teach this to any school or University anywhere in the world Free. It will be a 2 hour per day course for 2 weeks. I can teach 3 classes per day (6 hours). Just pay my travel & living expenses. I am in Chengdu, China now. If you are a teacher tell others, go and teach it at your school, on the weekend to clubs, start your own group, donate your time, you can make a big difference

It is my personal belief that such things should not be patentable. My reward will have to be that my grandchildren may experience the vast diversity of life that I have been lucky enough to see. That truly is the best reward we can all expect.

 

If you cannot make your own Algae Unit you can pay another company or school to do this for you. The price is very cheap and you can actually own the equipment. So, make one or donate some money to a local school so they can do it. I'm sure they would be happy to do this. So you have No Excuse anymore.

 

Please give us your waste bottles ( clear P.E.T. ) anywhere in the world.

We will collect them and We will grow Algae for you.

 

 

This organization is about CO₂ sequestration .

We will NOT be making any fuels with the Algae, only Health products, Animal feed and fertilizers.

 

You are not going to get rich doing this, though if groups form together, it is possible to make money from this, the by-products can be valuable, if you can effectively process them. They include making fuel for Cars,Trucks even Jets. I want to talk to farmers who have large water expanses or unusable degraded land. Use the waste, We can make the desert bloom with this.

It also won’t cost you much and there are other benefits.
